Apostle Grace Lubega
Apostle Grace Lubega is a prominent Ugandan Christian leader, preacher, and founder of Phaneroo Ministries International, a dynamic and rapidly growing evangelical ministry headquartered in Kampala. The name “Phaneroo” comes from the Greek word meaning “to make manifest,” reflecting the ministry’s goal to reveal the power of God in the lives of believers.
Born on July 21, 1987, in Wakiso District, Uganda, he was raised in a Roman Catholic family. He had his first conversion at age eight but recommitted to Christ while at Makerere University, where he studied statistics and accounting. Before entering full-time ministry, he worked in customer care at Kenya Commercial Bank. He resigned in 2007 to pursue preaching full-time and launched Phaneroo in 2014.
He is married to Nicole Kavuma Lubega, and they have a daughter born in 2020. In 2023, he received an honorary Doctor of Divinity degree. Phaneroo now operates in Uganda and other countries including Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, the UK, and the US. Apostle Lubega is also a gospel singer, known for incorporating music into his services.
Phaneroo Ministries International
Phaneroo Ministries International is a Christian ministry based in Kampala, Uganda, founded in 2014 by Apostle Grace Lubega. Its name, from the Greek word meaning "to make manifest," underscores its mission to reveal God’s power in the lives of believers.
Phaneroo holds its weekly fellowship every Thursday at the Uganda Manufacturers Association (UMA) showgrounds in Kampala, and Sunday services at the UMA Multipurpose Hall. The ministry is known for its vibrant worship, in-depth Bible teaching, and large gatherings.
Key annual events include the Men's Conference and the Women's Conference, which in 2025 drew over 50,000 and 70,000 participants respectively—some of the largest gatherings of their kind in Africa. Phaneroo is also active in evangelism, humanitarian outreach, and online ministry across the world.
Lydia Jazmine
Lydia Jazmine, born Lydia Nabawanuka on July 27, 1991, in Mukono, Uganda, is a well-known Ugandan singer and songwriter. She started singing in school and church choirs and gained professional experience with the Gertnum Band and as a backup singer for Radio and Weasel.
She broke out as a solo artist in 2014 with the single "You Know" featuring Rabadaba and has since released numerous hits including “Nkubanja,” “Cherie,” “Tukumbe,” “Masuuka,” and “Omalawo.” She has collaborated with artists such as Sheebah Karungi, Kizz Daniel, and Geosteady. In 2017, she represented Uganda on Coke Studio Africa.
She holds a degree in Business Administration and Management from Multitech Business School. In 2024, she held her debut concert titled First Born at the Kampala Sheraton Hotel to much acclaim.
Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA)
Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) is the government body responsible for the administration of Kampala, Uganda’s capital city. Established by the Kampala Capital City Act of 2011, KCCA replaced the former Kampala City Council and functions as a corporate body.
KCCA is governed by the Lord Mayor (currently Erias Lukwago), the Deputy Lord Mayor (Doreen Nyanjura), and elected councillors. The Executive Director is Dorothy Kisaka. KCCA oversees urban planning, infrastructure development, waste management, public health, education, and community services.
Recent initiatives include the acquisition of land in Mpigi District for a modern waste management facility, the development of a Climate Change Action Strategy, and infrastructure upgrades under the Kampala Institutional and Infrastructure Development Project (KIIDP 2), supported by the World Bank.
