She went on to explain that oftentimes we find ourselves wishing for the next stage. “I wish they could walk already.” “I wish they would just sleep without needing me.” “I wish they could go to school so I could have some more me-time”. “I can’t until they can pack their own lunches.”
It’s a simple yet profound reminder to stop chasing the future and instead, immerse ourselves in the richness of the present moment. Because truth be told, life’s most precious treasures are often found in the seemingly mundane. And one day we’ll look back and realize these simple present moments actually ARE the “good old days”.
